Wendy Johnson's Professional Portfolio
Reflections

Wow. What a year! I knew that getting into the Professional Development Program would be worth it, but I had no idea that it would have this much of an effect on me as a future teacher. I knew that I wanted to be a teacher my whole life, but I was honestly incredibly nervous at first. I mean… Me, in charge of a room filled with kids?   I remember going through the program feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and exhausted quite a lot. However, I pulled through because I knew that it would all pay off in the end. I was learning to be a great teacher. The Professional Development Program has taught me much. I have learned the importance of good management, communication, and above all, reflection. I feel that I now have the tools I need to succeed.

I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for me! What will my colleagues be like? Will I be someone’s favorite teacher someday? Where will I be teaching? What will the community be like? Where will I go from here?!..
