My name is Amanda Cash. I am from Pekin, Illinois, and am the oldest of nine children. We range in age from twenty-one to two and are all very close. We love spending Sunday night dinners together and supporting each other in sporting events. In my spare time I love to read, teach dance, scrapbook, and watch basketball games.
Growing up, I attending parochial schools through eighth grade and then went Pekin Community High School. I received my Associates in Arts and Sciences from Illinois Central College before attending Illinois State University in the Fall of 2006. In May of 2008, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I will be certified to teach Kindergarten through ninth grade with endorsements in Language Arts and Social Sciences.
In the Fall of 2007, I began my internship in a second grade classroom for eight weeks. The second eight weeks were spent in a sixth grade classroom, which was quite the opposite experience. I then returned to the second grade classroom for my student teaching. I always knew I wanted to teach children and with the help of the Pekin Professional Development School, I feel more prepared than ever.
