Looking Back....

    This year has been eye opening, rewarding, challenging, and exciting. I have had great experiences and moments both with my mentors and my students which encouraged me in my thoughts and desires to be a teacher. In addition, I have had frustrating and challenging moments which taught me to be more humble about wanting to teach. The whole year, however, has helped me grow more into the teacher I want to become.

      I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, and have traveled a long, sometimes hard road, to reach my dream. However, the Pekin PDS program and my students this year, have shown me how prepared and unprepared I am at the same time. Without the program and the students in Pekin, I know I would not be the teacher I have become. I will cherish and remember each of the staff members, teacher, and students who have helped guide me in my journey this school year.
