"A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove . . . . but the world maybe different because I was important in the life of a child." - Kathy Davis

When I was accepted into the Pekin PDS, I did not know what awesome experiences were in store for me. I have truly grown and developed so much over this past year. By having the opportunity to teach in a 2nd and 4th grade classroom, I think I have gained experience that I would not have gotten in a traditional student teaching experience. I am so thankful to everyone I have been able to work with this year that have helped me grow into the educator I am today. My liasons, mentors, fellow interns, and colleagues at the schools have given me so much knowledge that I am able to take into my first teaching position, and throughout my career as a teacher.

I feel very comfortable to start guiding students in my own classroom. I know I will continue to enhance my skills as an educator through reflection, professional development, and continued work with students.I am very excited to begin my career as an educator and cannot wait to see what is in store for my students and me!
