Heather Davis' Professional Portfolio
Reflections

This year in the Pekin Professional Development School (PDS) has been an amazing experience for me.  It has required more work than I ever expected, but the program showed me the true requirements of being a teacher and provided me with opportunities for collaboration and professional development.

Looking back on my time in Pekin School District 108, I have grown tremendously as an individual and as a teacher. I started the year as a shy person who was nervous to present lessons to the class.  As the year went on, I was guided and encouraged by my mentor teacher and liaison.   Their support made me the teacher I am today.  I am organized, confident, and comfortable enough with myself to be creative and enthusiastic with my lessons.

I am now confident in all aspects of teaching.  I leave this program with wonderful working relationships with my mentor teacher, liaison, and fellow interns.  I am prepared to teach my own classroom and impact my students' in a positive and meaningful way.
