LOOKING BACK

Being given the opportunity to participate in a year-long teaching experience has made me confident about having my own classroom. This experience has allowed me to help with the initial set-up of the classroom, organize "Meet the Teacher" night, attend parent-teacher conferences, and participate in staff meetings. While working with my students, I learned a great deal from them. They helped teach me how to be flexible and patient.

I feel fortunate to have been placed in a warm and inviting school for my student teaching experience. All of the staff members were very helpful and supportive from the first day I walked through the doors. Together we worked collaboratively to organize activities and find resources. My student teaching experience has shown me the importance of teamwork.

As I reflect back on student teaching, I am most excited about the progress the students have made since August. I feel fortunate that I was able to watch this transformation first hand.

I would like to thank my liaison, Mary Lange, and my mentors, Trish Clark and Ryan Clark, for all of their encouragement this past year. Thank you for pushing me to grow and become the best teacher possible. I would also like to thank my family and friends for all of their support throughout this experience and for encouraging me to follow my dreams.
