Phase 1

In this Phase, you'll learn about the different types of butterflies in Illinois.

Directions:

1. Turn to page 9 in your journal

2. Click on the Brown butterfly above

3. There are may different types of butterflies in Illinois. Each butterfly is part of a family. There are five families in Illinois.

4. On pages 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 of your journal, there is a different family name written at the top.

5. Looking at the webpage, find the family "Swallowtail"

6. Click on the cameras next to each name to see pictures of this family

(After looking at each picture, click the "BACK" button at the top of the page)

7. Choose one picture.

8. Answer the questions on page 8 of your journal from the information on the webpage.

9. Draw a picture of the butterfly

10. Do this again for each family on pages 9, 10, 11 and 12 of your journal.

11. Click on the "BACK" button at the top of the page
