July 15 - Pet Show
All programs are at 2 p.m. in the library's Community Room. In
addition to these programs we will have Storytime on Monday at
7 p.m. and Tuesday at 10 a.m. On Wednesday free make-it and take-it
crafts will be available in the children's room from 10 a.m. to
7 p.m.

We are so
sad to see our wonderful Illinois State University Interns leave
Dirksen School but we are very excited for them and their next
steps toward being excellent educators. We wish them the very

Fun, fun,
fun for everyone!
|
| After
Spring Break Dirksen will begin the all-school "Spring Learning
Fling"! Each grade will focus upon different plant and insect
growth cyces that support district Reading, Writing and the new Science
Facts SAI curriculum.
All projects
and activites will be on display at Open House on May 6th from 6:00
- 7:30 pm. There will be a family school-wide scavenger hunt with
prizes along the way. The scavenger hunt will help families learn
about all the plants and insects that their children have been exploring!
The Scavenger Hunt will end with a Dirksen Backyard Make-Your-Own
Sundae Treat.

Blue Ribbon Writing

| Each
Tuesday and Wednesday at Morning Ceremony, Dirksen students share
their Blue Ribbon Writing as a special way to celebrate our School-Wide
Writing Goal. |

PEAK is an
after school program in which your child can participate in recreation,
computer time, crafts, and much more!
