2001
Students at Dirksen Primary School have participated in the following in activities in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:
  • Second grade students went to each classroom and performed a short skit which included the above poem and a song in honor of Dr. King.
  • Created a timeline about the important events in Dr. King's life.
  • Had a birthday party for Dr. King.
  • Listened to and read books about Dr. King.
  • Wrote narrative stories.
  • Created booklets about Dr. King.
  • Recognized Dr. King at Opening Ceremony.
  • Explored the following bookmarked sites on the Internet:
