Dirksen
Primary School is committed to the health and safety of its students
and ensures that they learn how to keep themselves fit, both physically
and academically, while having fun. Dirksen School involves local
businesses, organization and agencies in activities that will develop
positive and healthy lifestyles for the children. During this past
year, third grade students at Dirksen Primary School partipated in
health and safety classes provided through a Project First Choice
Grant under the supervison of Lori Rittenhouse and Erin Trueblood.
Students were taught how to respond to health and emergencies and
saving lives; the third grade students shared their information with
other children in the school. On Septmeber 17, 2002, the American
Red Cross presented the award to our school at the American Red Cross
Safety Awards Breakfast. |
