Team 7B is currently in the middle of
their Economic Simulation. During the three week simulation, students
are given
"identities" and act as consumers and
providers. As consumers, they buy houses, trade cars, make insurance
decisions, and pay lots of bills!
As providers, they work at the bank, insurance agency, car dealership,
grocery
store, department store, police station,
or other various businesses. The students are also priveleged to
hear eight
different people from Pekin discuss
their careers.
Sgt Dill from the U.S. Marine Corp whips students into shape with a discussion about the armed sevices. |
Officer Kedzior of the Pekin Police Department gives the students information about police work. |
Mr. Schade, Manager of Mr. K's, informs the students on what it takes to run a grocery store. |
Mrs. Martin, a retired nurse, reflects on the years she spent in the nursing field. |
