Ms. Hallam, a counselor at Edison, has programs for the EJHS students
to go over to CB Smith School and help with the K-3 students. Some
of the programs include teacher helper, tutoring, and Edison Connections.
Teacher
helper is when an Edison student gets to go to CB Smith and help the teacher
grade papers and helps the students when they ask for help. |
Tutoring is when a seventh or eighth grader is assigned to a student
and the
help the younger student in an
area where they need help. This is done during study hall and class
time.
Edison
Connection is when a junior high student take a student from CB Smith and
plays games with them and goes for walks around the school. A nickname
for this program is Big Brother Big Sister. They can also take the student
outside when the weather is warm.
Another
program that is offered to the Edison student is the mechanical baby program.
It is to teach girls what a baby is like and to teach them the responsibility
of having a child. |
