A Taste of Central Illinois
Rachael Lee, Megan Pulliam, Josh Albritton, and Nathan Smith

There are many places to eat throughout Central Illinois. For an example: Davis Brothers, Emo’s, H.O.I. Fair, and Fiesta Ranchera. Junior high students have visited these places to eat and enjoyed them very much.
The H.O.I. (Heart of Illinois) fair is a famous fair. It has good food and good games. It has lots of food: corn dogs, funnel cakes,  pizza, tacos, cotton candy, and lemon shakeups. There are big hotdogs smothered in grilled onions and green peppers “Mmmmm”.
Emo’s is a great place to go with the whole family. There are quite a variety of ice-cream treats to cool one down on a hot summer day. Coney dogs and cheese fries with a fountain drink or a milk shake make a tasty lunch or snack. Customers can eat their food outside on the picnic tables. Emo’s is a fabulous place to spend time with the kids. Located on the corner of Prospect and War Memorial in Peoria with a big clown on the top of the building, Emo’s is a fun and easy place to go.

Fiesta Ranchera in Peoria was formally a Hardee’s. There’s also a Fiesta Ranchera in Bloomington, Pekin, and East Peoria. They serve excellent Mexican foods. I personally thought the bean burrito was great. They also have a very large menu. A diner may want to be careful when ordering because they have huge servings. Experience this great Mexican food soon. fiesta
Davis Brothers are very well known for their great tasty pizza.  Davis Brothers is located in East Peoria and Creve Coeur. They have been located in the past on Washington Street in Wal-Mart’s old parking lot.  The one in Creve Coeur is now called Dan’s Pizza.  Davis Brothers in East Peoria is still called their original name, Davis Brothers. When one enters the Restaurant there are arcade games located in the back of the restaurant.  Each game is in the range of fifty cents to seventy-five cent to play each game.  Davis Brothers have been around for fifty years now.  Their pizza is good and recommended to be eaten for lunch or dinner.
