The Millennium Flu

Health officials are claiming that this is going to be the worst flu season in years. It’s widespread around the world including the United States. It first hit California and hard. Flu cases have been reported in every state except one.
Hospitals are jam-packed with critically ill patients. This massive outbreak has forced hospitals to cancel surgeries in order to deal with the out-of the ordinary overflow of patients. Hospital admissions have risen a shocking 40 percent since the start of the flu season.
Doctors suspect that Australian rugby fans could have carried the virus when they came to last year's World Cup.
This year’s flu season has produced a nasty strain of influenza. The strain of virus that has hit Europe seems to be the same as the one that struck the United States, which doctors are calling the Sydney A. Virus.
Good news is that this year’s flu shots are effective to the widespread virus. The bad news, though, is that health officials have predicted that it will get worse before it gets better.
Some helpful hints for those who have the flu:
           -Take Vitamin C tablets
              -Drink lots of water
              -Take pain relievers
              -Get plenty of rest

Note: Half of our class has had the flu in the past two weeks.
