Sufferers at Kosovo

At least fifty families from Petrovac village can hear the explosion of bombshells nearby. Hundreds more are probably scattered across the mountains. The U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees plan to send a convoy, tents, and blankets to
International homeless ones. The only thing the families have to eat is bread. One family of sixteen spent the night in a straw hut sleeping on top of each other. But they are lucky ones-they have a roof over their heads.
Because of low temperatures people who sleep out in the open are gray from being frostbitten. The high there is ten degrees. More than five thousand three hundred
fled from homes to go to a safer
village, but three thousand are without shelter. There are more than fifteen people in a twenty- foot- square hut.
The Huseni brothers chopped down trees and made a tent covered with blankets for a makeshift hut. “Last night we slept sleeping up,” Huseni said. “We had no room to lie down because our neighbors came and needed a place to stay, so we let them in.”
We feel bad for the people that have to go through with these types of hardships, but we feel grateful for everything we have. It must be frightening not knowing whether or not you will survive through everyday. We honor them for their loyalty to their country and their willingness to survive. These refugees are truly heroic people.
