Chinese hospitals are selling liver transplants from the executed prisoners.
The hospitals are charging $38,500 or selling to the highest bidder.
The hospitals are making profit from abusing the power of the death penalty.
More than 40 patients from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Thailand
have received transplants. Beijing constantly denies selling livers from
executed prisoners. They say they will only do it if they have the consent
of the family members.
Justin Daugherty: I don’t think they shouldn’t take the organs out of dead people. Let them rest. I also think the price is way too high. I feel that all people should be able to afford it. Craig Keys: I feel that the livers should just be given to the people who need them. I feel that rich people shouldn’t be better than other people just because they’re rich. Nathan Smith: I also feel that the livers should be given away. Most people in China who need it wouldn’t have the money. Any average family wouldn’t be able to afford a transplant. Cody O’Brien: I don’t think they should give them away with out the consent of the person. They should have an organ donor system like we have in America. They should have written documents with the person’s signature on it. Just because the family said they could do it doesn’t mean they can do it. I think the police should be 50% responsible for it. The police station uses the death penalty way too much. If the hospital is caught selling livers for such a high price it should be fined for the amount of the liver transplant. I think the hospital shouldn’t be allowed to make all the profit from it because isn’t saving a life a big enough reward? Annie Weyhrich: The organ transplants should be free because the poor dying people couldn’t afford $38,500 a transplant. I also think there should be an organ donor consent form signed by the executed prisoner. Hospitals should be fined if caught doing a transplant. The fine will be whatever the police decide. The death penalty should stop being abused by the police. |
