The Best NBA Athletes
 |
Basketball
was invented in 1891 bringing with it some of the best athletes in the
world. The 19th century was the birth of a new era. Many of its athletes
have been awarded for their intelligence in basketball.
About
70 years later Bill Russell led the Boston Celtics to 11 NBA championships.
His great sportsmanship and spectacular basketball skills gave him the
right to be in the Hall of Fame. He ranked 18th on the greatest North American
athletes of the 20th century list. |

| In
1959 Wilt Chamberlain was placed on the Philadelphia Warriors. He was
known for his awesome offensive force and his will for scoring and rebounding.
Wilt Chamberlain was the only NBA player to score 4,000 points in a season.
As fans and spectators we can all honestly believe that Chamberlain was
the best offensive force in the NBA. |

Michael
Jordon has altered the basketball field, being the most loved by children
and admired by adults. Michael Jordan was awared in 1999 as
the century's best athlete, a year after he retired. He proved to everyone
and to himself that he was the best player in the NBA. We believe Michael
Jordon earned the most honorable title anyone could wish for. |
| Ervin
Johnson is known also as “Magic” Johnson. He played for the Los Angeles
Lakers and made it to five championships. He was awarded the most valuable
player three times in the NBA. He was a 12- time all-star and a 9-time
member of the all- NBA team. Then he was diagnosed as HIV positive.
He retired after his diagnosis, later coming back to play the final
32 games for the Lakers. Ervin Johnson should be admired for his heroic
comeback. |
