By: Mallory York, Schrie Rusnak, Allison Sursa,

Forty Junior High Students were surveyed
On what they believed about space and aliens:
Here’s what they said;

Question One: Do you think there could be life on other planets?
          Seventy percent of Edison students believed there could be life on other planets and thirty percent believed we are the only creatures out there.

Question Two: If yes, do you believe we should try to make contact/ communicate with them?
        Thirty-five percent of the forty students believed space should be left alone, while another sixty-five percent believe communication could be possible and in some cases  helpful.

Question Three: What kind of resources do you think we could possibly use or trade?
        Several junior high students, thirty-four percent, thought energy would be a main trade.  Sixteen percent of other students thought water would be the worthwhile trade.  Computers and Technology, voted for by only three percent, would help enhance the U.S.A.’s technology system.  A surprising forty-seven percent believed that aliens would be excellent allies for war.

Question Four: Where do you think Aliens could possibly live?
           Five percent said Mercury would be the ideal place for Aliens to live.  While no one picked Venus, Mars and Out Of the Solar System were tied with twenty-five percent each.  Jupiter and Saturn received six percent each.  Nineteen percent of the forty students believed Pluto would be the ideal place for aliens to live.  Neptune and Uranus received ten percent of the votes each.

In taking the survey ourselves:
Allison Sursa believed there was life on other planets and that we should try to communicate with them.  Allison also believes that aliens, if smart enough, would make excellent alliances for war.  To her, the most ideal place for Aliens to live would be from another galaxy.

Mallory York believes that there is some kind of life on other planets and also that we should try to communicate with them. To her the most likely place for Aliens to live is in another galaxy.

Schrie Rusnak believes that there is life on other planets, but we should not try to make contact with them. She believes we should trade technology and energy with them, but not in person. The most ideal place for Aliens to live is Mars.

Sami Jo Beach believes that there is not life on other planets and therefore we should not try to make contact with them. The most ideal place that Aliens, if they DID exist, is Mercury.

  Ali Irwin believes that yes there is life on other planets.  She believes that we should trade “All of the Above” with them. The most ideal place for Aliens to live is on Mars.
