By: Mike Edele, Zach Swonger, Hailey Hammer, Tennia Conkling, and Josh Nash

On January 20, 2001 a new President was sworn in.  His name was George W. Bush.  Students of Edison Junior High gave their opinions toward goals for the new President, George Bush.

Dear Mr. President,
I think that the school should be more safe and protecting of others.
                      Hailey, 13, Pekin, Illinois, 61554

Dear Mr. President,
I think that you should lower taxes on certain things.  Some people can not always afford to pay   their taxes.
                    Ashley, 13, Pekin, Illinois, 61554

Dear Mr. President,
Since you're President, I think the first thing your should do is lower taxes.  The most important part is defending your country.  You should keep the country safe from any possibilities, such as: bombing, war, etc.  I want you to teach kids around the globe about what it is like to be a President.                   Michael, 13, Pekin, Illinois, 61554

Dear Mr. President,
I would like the gas prices to lower because they’re too expensive.  I wold like for you to cut down on air pollution.
                               Elijah, 13, Pekin, Illinois, 61554

Dear Mr. President,
I would like to know where you stand on the issue of Social Security.  From what I’ve heard, we would lose all of our Senior Citizens because they would have nothing, no money to buy food, no housing, no body to take care of people.
                             Sam, 13, Pekin, Illinois, 61554

Dear Mr. President,
I would like to see new schoolbooks for the classrooms, and new computers for the schools.  I would like for you to give more federal money to the districts for teacher salary.  I would like these things to happen for our school.
                         Zach, 14, Pekin, Illinois, 61554

Dear Mr. President,
If I could change anything in the world it would be that all-old people would get fair checks.
                      Tennia, 12, Pekin, Illinois, 61554

Dear Mr. President,
If I could change anything in the world it would be to stop the war and also to have power.
                       Amanda, 12, Pekin, Illinois, 61554

Dear Mr. President,
You should help the needy.  You need to improve the schools, and also stop violence and lower taxes.
                      Nick, 12, Pekin, Illinois, 61554

Dear Mr. President,
We  would also like you to stop violencYou should help pets because they need the treatment. You should make things cheaper for the poor and improve schools.
                     Josh, 13, Pekin, Illinois, 61554
