Wrestling Gone Bad?

A 12-year-old boy says that he was imitating pro wrestler moves and killed Tiffany Unick. Some people believe that Tate is too young to face the death penalty. Tate’s jury asked for copies of reports on Tiffany's autopsy. Tiffany's autopsy showed that she suffered a fractured skull, a lacerated liver, a broken rib, internal hemorrhaging, and cuts and bruises. Lionel Tate told police that he picked Tiffany up and accidentally hit her head on the table. Tate later made a tape that showed him accidentally throwing Tiffany into a stair handrail and trying to throw her on the sofa.

Before trial Tate faced three sentences and ten-year probation if he pleaded guilty. Jim Lewis, Lionel’s attorney said, “Professional wrestling is the current issue in Tiffany’s death.” He said, “Lionel was immature and didn’t understand that pro wrestlers were trained to beat on each other.” Tate was then sentenced to life in jail.

Our Views:

Jody- “I think that pro-wrestling is a bad influence on kids. Wrestlers train for years. Although wrestling is very exciting to watch, it is a very bad influence on children.”

Zach- “I think pro wrestling is a bad influence. Most people don't even know it's fake. The kid should understand that and be punished.”

Jeff- “I think Pro Wrestling should be banned. I also think that Lionel should go to jail but his parents should have told him it was fake.”

Andrew- “Wrestling should be changed so that it would be less violent. Plus no cussing.”

Cody- “I think the kid should be sentenced to death, because they have commercials that say not to do this at home.”
