Patch Winner

Star Watch Command Space Launch Patch
I have chosen this design to put Edison Junior High's name
(Large white letters displayed in the red border around the outside of the design)
in front of the public and to display information about the 25th launch of the Columbia Space Shuttle while honoring Edison's very own astronaut, Scott Altman.

The red, white, and blue color scheme works well, not only because these are our country's colors but because red and white is also Edison Junior High School's colors.
The rocket in the middle of the design represents the launch of Columbia's 25th flight, STS-90. Scott Altman will be the pilot.

The eight stars in the patch represent the eight students selected from Edison to view their STAR, Scott Altman at the launch site in Florida on April 2nd.

The gold shown as smoke from the rocket also represents the pride in Scott Altman and the recognition of the honor it is for the eight students to represent our school on this mission.
