EAV
or Equalized assessed value is the total valuation of
all properties in the District for taxing purposes.
This tax base is used to determine the total amount
the District may levy as restricted by PTELL. As part
of the levy process, the District considers the cost
to the homeowners and businesses in the District. In
order for a homeowner to determine their portion of
the taxes levied by the District, they should follow
the following formula:
Assessed
value of home/3*levy rate by the District/100
Using this years tax rate of $2.68 for FY08, the approximate
cost to a $100,000 homeowner would be:
$100,000/3*2.68/100=$893
