NOTE: When an individual's performance indicates he/she is likely to be changing from "informal" to "formal", opportunities/options for assistance will be made available for evaluatee. As it is incumbent upon the evaluatee, said individual will self-select options. The evaluator may recommend specific options.
Options may include but not limited to peer coaching, release time for observations, additional training/development, and teaming with a colleague.

Informal Collaborative Strand [top]

After moving into the informal collaborative strand, by October 1 the following year, the evaluator/evaluatee will mutually agree upon goal(s) and the method of communicating and documenting goal(s) attainment
Observations and interaction between evaluator/evaluatee: continuous informal visits, dialogue, exchange of information related to goal attainment and five district EXPECTATIONS occur during the Informal Collaborative cycle
IF area(s) of concern arise, notice will be given to evaluatee in sufficient time to address and improve identified concern(s)
Evaluator/evaluatee review professional resources and options available for professional support
Evaluator/evaluatee may request formal observations and/or external assistance
Evaluatee will share a "self-reflection" review of goal accomplishments or any additional information related to the summative document with evaluator
At the conclusion of the two year cycle, a summative evaluation conference/sign-off would be conducted no less than 30 days prior to end of the official school year calendar confirming in writing, evaluatee's strand for next school year, date for next written evaluation and informal dialogue regarding goal identification

Goal Setting
Goal setting provides the basis for positive action to meet student and teacher needs within the building and district strategic plans.

NOTE: At the beginning of the evaluation cycle, the evaluator and evaluatee will mutually agree upon a method of communicating and documenting goal attainment.

At the summative conference, the evaluator will provide the evaluatee a written evaluation which will include the overall rating, confirmation of evaluation status for the next evaluation cycle, and a narrative. The narrative will include professional background of the staff member and evaluative comments related to the mutually agreed upon goal(s). Additional statements related to performance in the five district EXPECTATIONS, commendations, and suggestions for future goals will also be included.
