Improvement Goal 1

Improvement Focus/Goal Statement
100 % of kindergarteners will reach level 3 or above on the Phonemic Awareness Inventory.
Rationale of Need
Phonemic awareness is a precursor to early reading achievement. The inventory measures a student’s acquisition of the subskills of phonemic awareness.
Alignment to District Goals
Goal #1: Continuously improve student and employee performance. Goal #2: Continuously improve and align support programs and services to assist each student’s success.

Improvement Goal 2

Improvement Focus/Goal Statement
100 % of first grade students will maintain an 80% average or higher on grade level assessments.
Rationale of Need
Data from various assessments—teacher made tests, SAI, and ICDI indicate that not all students are mastering reading objectives.
Alignment to District Goals
Goal #1: Continuously improve student and employee performance. Goal #2: Continuously improve and align support programs and services to assist each student’s success.

Improvement Goal 3

Improvement Focus/Goal Statement
100% of 2nd and 3rd grade students will maintain an average of 75% or higher on CARS tests.
Rationale of Need
Data from various assessments—teacher made tests, SAI, ISAT, ITBS, and ICDI indicate that not all students are mastering reading objectives.
Alignment to District Goals
Goal #1: Continuously improve student and employee performance. Goal #2: Continuously improve and align support programs and services to assist each student’s success.
