The original Jefferson School was opened in 1906. It was replaced
by a new facility in 1976. The primary school houses approximately
350 students with four classrooms each of kindergarten, first,
second, and third grades, plus an AM and PM early childhood class.
The
students are served by physical education and music specialists,
as well as a learning center teacher and instructional assistant.
Title I and Reading Recovery services are offered, in addition
to special education resource and connections program for 3rd
graders.
Some classrooms are self-contained, some are K-1 or 2-3 looping,
and some are K-1 or 2-3 grade multi-age.
