Evidence / Knowledge of Results (What did we
learn?)
|
Recommendations (What do we need to do differently?)
|
- We did not have enough time to implement all components of our
action plan.
- Grade level planning was valuable.
|
- We will state specifically what pieces we will use for instruction
and which for data collection.
- During grade level planning we will specifically identify data
collection and instructional components.
|
- The use of graphic organizers needs to begin on the first day
of school.
- The graphic organizer was very beneficial to students.
- We were not consistent in the application of the graphic organizer
|
- We will introduce the 4block graphic organizer in September.
- We will come to consensus on instructional methods and consistently
implement those ideas as a grade level. For example, we will use
phrases rather than sentences in our graphic organizers.
|
- We learned a great deal about our students writing from
our data collection.
|
- We will continue to collect data on student writing. We will
meet to discuss, help each other and double check scoring for
more consistency.
|
- The Jefferson rubric did not adequately meet our needs.
- There were scoring inconsistencies among grade level teachers.
- There were accommodations made for special needs students.
|
- We will be more specific, define expectations and include conventions.
We will change the rubric to have clearer guidelines.
- We will consult together to score papers.
- We will ask other grade levels for input about what we can allow
and make adaptations for and what we cant.
|
- There was a lack of consistency in the implementation of the
planner, editing checklist, revision checklist, reflection tool
and writing prompt
|
- We will come to consensus to refine the instruction of tools
already developed and follow through and reflect on practices
across our grade level.
|
- Conferencing was valuable for students as well as teachers.
It was, however, very time consuming.
|
- We will continue to conference with students but will do it
consistently across the grade level.
