Leadership Team September 29, 2003

Debra Barnard, Shelly Cordts, Stephanie Dunn, Debbie Davis, Tiffany Cascia, Suzanne Adcock, Jennifer Miller, Marian Gray, Sheila Watson, Traci Craig

RE: Meeting Summary

Leadership Team met on Thursday, September 25 from 4:30 to 6:30. Below is a summary of our activities and decisions.

  • We approved ground rules for the year (See attached). We can revisit these at any time.
  • We discussed the Leadership Team Facilitator position. We looked at advantages to Debbie continuing in this position or having someone else fill the role. It was the consensus of the team that the facilitator should have some Leadership Team experience. We also considered the notion of co-facilitation for a period of time. We will discuss this topic at our October meeting.
  • We spent some time looking at the survey data from last spring related to staff satisfaction related to shared decision making. We are looking at this issue as it relates to Leadership Team as well as other shared decisions in our school. I have attached the affinity chart that we created highlighting the components of shared decision making. This topic will also be on our October agenda.
  • We reviewed the facility needs assessment from last year. The team suggested we add a shed to the list of needs since ours was torn down as the result of arson this summer.
  • Parent Time topics suggested that we publish the parent names in the school newsletter so that parents would be aware of the representatives on the team.
  • We discussed PTA dollars. We will revisit this topic in October.
  • Marian Gray volunteered to be our DILT representative.
  • We set the October meeting for October 21 and the November meeting for November 25.
