Jefferson School Quality Assurance

D. Our school has analytical processes in place to support review of school performance and our planning process. How? Key elements include:

Data Collection for D

Four kindergaren and one Reading Recovery teacher tracked achievement in Language arts. This information provided us with baseline data to comapre achievement in years to come.
Three first grade teachers and one Reading Recovery teacher also analyzed reading achievement using four measuring tools. This project also provided us with baseline data to compare achievement in years to come.

We use quality tools to assist us with analysis of information. One example is our January 18 SIP Day activities.

Our first year's experience with SAI provided us the opportunity to analyze results of formative assessments and learn which outcomes present the greatest challenges. We focused this analysis in the area of math. Several targets are set for each cycle.

The spring of the year is used to analyze summative results and make adjustments to long range plans and establish targets for the coming year. State data do not become available until the next fall and are used to analyze past performance and set targets. The process includes grade levels examining their results and setting targets.
