Quality Assurance
is a process by which schools in Illinois present evidence to assure
that their processes and results meet state standards. They are
recognized with a DOES NOT MEET, MEETS OR EXCEEDS distinction. The
rating is based on criteria recognized by the state. A school can
use Illinois State Board of Education criteria or criteria from
the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Educational Performance Excellence.
The criteria for our district and school assurance portfolio is
modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Award for Performance
Excellence and American Society for Quality (ASQ) Koality Kid Alliance.
The Baldrige Award consists of seven core values that measure the
effectiveness of systems and processes within an organization.
Our school conducted an Internal Review this year. Two parents,
four teachers, two teaching assistants, a central office administrator
and the principal were members of the Quality Assurance Review Team.
The review included:
- An
interview with our Student Teacher Assistance Team
- An
interview with our Instructional Leadership Team
- An
interview with parents from our PTA
- A review
of the evidence in each of the seven categories posted to
the Quality Assurance Web Site
- Classroom
observations
- Interviews
with classroom teachers
- Interviews
with students
