As the Leadership Team began searching for tools to help us with continuous, continuous improvement we worked with a variety of consultants who were helping us to build a learning community. A Learning Community is built upon an organization's Mission, Vision, Values and Goals. We looked at what we were currently doing and collectively determined our Values-- What do we all need to do well together. After describing them, we created rubrics to help identify the critical components and a way of assessing where we were collectively and individually. On the links below the Value statement is at the top and our vision of an ideal is the Sustaining description. All of us need to be at at least the entry level. Reflective questions to help guide self assessment follow each of the rubrics.
Student performance expectations are communicated through the SAI process as well as the district discipline handbook. Both sets of expectations are communicated to all students. Additionally the school sends out monthly newsletters and classrooms also send frequent communication home. |
