Every two years the district updates
the District
Strategic Plan (District Improvement Plan). As a staff we provide input
to the District
Instructional Leadership Team. We also have representatives of our staff
as members of the District Instructional Leadership Team. The team takes
input from all buildings and other stake holders and revises the plan every
two years. As a school we are responsible for contributing to the achievement
of the district goals and objectives. In addition we develop action items
which drive our improvement efforts. In essence, we can add to the district
plan but not take away. Our
plan has all the elements of the district plan and some additional items.
Each spring we review
our goals and objectives and make adjustments to our strategic directions.
We use information from student performance on norm referenced tests,
ISAT results, local assessments, teacher
assessments, surveys
of parents and students, our
school report card, and district initiatives to help set strategic direction
and action
items for the coming year. We do this as a staff in the spring before
school is dismissed for the summer. We review our progress at various times
throughout the year at staff meetings and school improvement and institute
days. During these times we not only review progress but also provide training
and staff development to support improvement efforts. Staff members annually
develop personal improvement plans which are related to some aspect of the
plan. Staff members develop goals or personal
improvement plans which align with the building and district initiatives.
