Jefferson School Quality Assurance

B. Our school determines key parent/family requirements, deploys them to all those involved and maintains effective parent/family relationships. How? Key elements include:

Data Collection for B

 

Our first day of school is desiged for families to come to school and meet their new teacher. On that day children come with their parents, find their classroom, meet their teacher and share information. It is a very informal way to build relationships with families and to start the year on a positive note.

Our school has an active PTA. One staff member serves on the executive board as one of the officers. Also Three parents serve on the Leadership Team (one selected by the PTA, one selected by the team itself and one selected by the principal). Each of the parents serve a three year term with one new parent comeing to the team each year and one leaving.

Near the office of the school is a Family Room for parents and families. The room includes resources for parents such as literature and learning games that can be checked out for use at home. Resources in the room are maintained by the Family Coordinator.
