The Jefferson School Leadership Team meets on a monthly basis throughout the school year. Agenda topis are selected by the team each month for the following month. Representatives on the team are volunteers from the staff. It is an expectation in the school that each person will "take their turn" on Leadership Team. Each member serves for a period of 3 years and may serve no more than 2 consecutive terms. The membership is rotated so that no more than 2 or 3 staff members go "off" the team in any given year which helps with consistency and historical awareness of the issues the team has dealt with. Three parents serve on the team. One parent is selected by PTA, one by the Team and one by the principal. During the first meeting of the year one of the topics on the agenda are the Team's ground rules. That is, how will we go about decision making and communicating as a team and as individual members of the school leaderhsip. The ground rules change each year. The ground rules for 2001, for example, are different than the ground rules for this year. |
