Photos taken from Illinois River Sweep on Saturday, September 15, 2007. Broadmoor had twenty students participate. They have also been asked to say the Pledge of Allegiance at the next Pekin City Council meeting and will be recognized for their efforts. Those students who attended the Illinois River Sweep include: Casper Cogar, Amber Keyster, Ali Burris, Samantha Thomas, Erin Williams, Madison Dunn, Tina Telford, Jake Flannigan, Katie Newman, Heidi Maneno, Erica Svendsen, Aliona VonHatten, Alicia Calvillo, Danielle Brinkman, David Felix, Tiahna Scovil, Kim Chriscaden, Abigail Dreher, Megan McGurr, Ashley Reynolds, and Mariah Bly. A very good (an occassionally muddy) time was had by all! The organizers of the Illinois River Sweep also wrote a very nice letter for the Broadmoor Students. | On Nov. 16th BJHS Service Learning Team helped organize a leaf raking project for 7th graders. Over 40 students spent the afternoon raking yards. Our collaboration with the Miller Center assisted with getting us 10 residents to help out that day. One group even got a "bonus" yard in because an elderly lady who just had hip surgery came out of her house and asked if the students could do her yard also! They enthusiastically agreed. | ||
