| I would like to welcome you to Edison Junior High School.
Edison Junior High opened in 1953 on the north side of
Pekin at 1400 Earl Street. Please disregard the name
because Edison was organized as a middle school in 1994
and recognized by the state as a Lead, Demonstration
and Partnership Middle School. We have four teaching
teams composed of seventh and eighth graders that offer
block-scheduling, inclusion, Title 1, tutoring, looping
of students and a gifted curriculum. We offer many extended
activities, which include liberal arts and athletic programs.
Edison is committed to developing enthusiastic, life-long
learners. We expect our students to take an active
role in their own education, home and community by
offering them diverse learning experiences. We use
the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Improvement Model to identify
our strengths and opportunities for improvement.
