Screening is held at least twice each school year-once
in the Spring and again in the Fall. Parents interested
in enrolling their child in the program should contact
the program's office to schedule an appointment.

Referrals by local community agencies and programs
for services are frequently made for children
and families to gain the support they may seek.
*Adult
Education/ Infant-Toddler maintains open enrollment
as adult students meet their academic goals and
take the next steps towards enrollment in college
or obtaining employment.
Parents
interested in GED classes are encouraged to call
the office anytime during the school year.

| Transportation
|
Transportation
is provided for children and adult students who
would otherwise not be able to attend classes. The
Pekin Municipal Bus Department provides door-to-door
bus service for families.

| Meals
|
| Nutritious
meals are provided at Free, Reduced, or Paid rates
for preschool children daily.
Family-style dining in the cafeteria
for breakfast or lunch provides children the opportunity
to learn about nutrition, table manners, socialization
through conversations with their classmates and
staff, and self-help skills.

Education |
GED
classes offer individualized instruction for parents
working on academic subject areas in preparation
for taking the GED exam. Opportunities to learn
more about basic life and parenting skills, as well
as pursuing career and college goals are available.
PACT (Parent and Child Time) is enjoyed by parents
and their Infant/Toddler children on site.

| Parents
enrolled in the Adult Education classes may have
their Infants and Toddlers attend the play-based,
developmentally appropriate program which encourages
growth, development, and learning for the center's
youngest students between the ages of six weeks
to two years. PACT and Parenting are two important
activities to the class. |
| Preschool |
Play-based,
developmentally appropriate learning activities
are provided in the areas of language and speech,
social development, fine and gross motor skills,
and pre-readiness skills for children between the
ages of three and five.

| Early
Childhood Special Education |
Programming
is provided for children three to six years old
with unique needs in speech/language, social, physical,
intellectual, behavioral, or other developmental
areas. Play-based, developmentally appropriate learning
activities are provided. IEP's (Individual Education
Plans) are developed for each child.

| Health
Services |
A
full time Health Clerk is available to children
and families daily. The Health Clerk's duties are
to treat minor illnesses and injuries, administer
medications having proper documentation from the
child's physician and parent, screen for head lice,
and monitor students for communicable diseases.
Providing health information to children and families
is essential.

Services |
| Speech,
Occupational, and Physical Therapies are available
for children that qualify for these services. Eligibility
is based upon the appropriate screening conducted.
Family Counseling services are
also available.

| Family
Literacy Center/Activities |
| Family
activities are held throughout the school year to
promote children and parents learning while having
fun-together! Families are invited to attend the
Center's Open House/Christmas Program, Family Nights,
and Parent Workshops to enjoy special time with
one another and learn about individual interests.
The school's Family Literacy Center offers the opportunity
for parents, children, and staff to check out resources
for use both at school and at home. Technology
for parents and children is also available
in
the Family Literacy Center. |

| Children
Birth to Five years of age are eligible to participate
in Screenings held throughout the school year. Each
child's development is assessed in areas of language,
memory, gross and fine motor ability, and perceptual
skills. Vision and hearing is also checked. Family
needs are determined and considered for program
eligibility. |
