S.I.L.T. Minutes
November 2007

SILT is a site-based decision making group. Site-based decision making is a process in which a variety of school and community members collaborate in identifying problems, defining goals, formulating policy, shaping direction, and ensuring implementation. Those individuals who are responsible for the implementation of a decision at the building level are actively involved. Site-based decision making should be seen as a means to improve the instructional program and enhance student achievement.

SILT is a representative decision-making body. The team meets the first Wednesday of each month at 3:20 in the Learning Center. Meetings may be arranged at other times when necessary and staff will be informed of those changes. All staff are welcome to attend SILT meetings. Also, staff meetings will be scheduled one week later. These meetings will begin at 3:20 in the Learning Center. One purpose of these meetings will be to clarify SILT discussions/decisions.
