SILT
is a site-based decision making group. Site-based decision
making is a process in which a variety of school and community
members collaborate in identifying problems, defining
goals, formulating policy, shaping direction, and ensuring
implementation. Those individuals who are responsible
for the implementation of a decision at the building level
are actively involved. Site-based decision making should
be seen as a means to improve the instructional program
and enhance student achievement.
- SILT
is an organizational body which will administer
site based, shared decision-making. SILT is
a representative group of staff and parents
which is responsible for planning and problem
solving to improve the quality of education
and working life at each school.
- ·
Site based, shared decision-making is a joint
planning and problem solving process.
- ·
Each site will evaluate the effectiveness of
site based, shared decision-making on a yearly
basis. Such reflection and analysis would involve
both the SILT and all staff.
- ·
The Willow Instructional Leadership Team, is
called WILT.
- ·
WILT's group processes and decisions must fall
within the district parameters, established
by DILT, the District Instructional Leadership
Team, and approved by the Board of Education
and the EAP, the Education Association of Pekin.
- ·
WILT has formal process parameters approved
by the staff. A copy of these parameters is
included in the staff handbook. (These process
parameters are posted in Section 6 Process Management.)
