Facilitator, Jan White, asked members to remind their constituents that anyone on the C. B. Smith staff is welcome at any SILT meeting, allowing non-members to give their input on issues being discussed.

SILT members will continue to represent their grade level teachers and specialists.

Cindy shared the results of the SILT evaluations taken at the end of last year and the August Retreat information concerning comfort levels in the following areas: Student Writing Survey, Smith Rubric, PDSA Process, Teacher Goal Setting, Student Goal Setting, and Goal Setting forms. C. B. Smith teachers are generally comfortable with these areas.

Student Expectations - SILT agreed with the guidelines presented to the staff during the August institute..

Supervisory Expectations - Teachers also agreed with these guidelines.

Bus/Latchkey Dismissal - Becky B. requested a list of subs that could take children to the buses after school, if the regularly scheduled person is out of the building.

The subs are: Bonnie Muren, Joyce Lucera, Kendra White (Rita D.'s intern) on Mondays & Thursdays this semester and all week next semester. Teri Martin (Melissa's intern) and Jenny Bratt (Linda's intern) are available at the same times as Kendra. Either Lucy or Jill is available on Mondays.

Site Decision Process

SILT parameters were discussed.

Jan reminded us that ARA's contract is up after this year and that SILT is responsible for making a new plan for supervision, if needed.

Parent SILT members were informed that in addition to ARA staff, Jill and Lucy now help with lunch recess. Craig Stickling will be joining them on Thursdays and Fridays.

Flex time was discussed. Cindy realizes that we all are adjusting to turning in flex plans by noon each Friday for the following week.

A discussion took place about how best to use Jill's and Lucy's extra 30 minutes per week. Joyce will talk to Lucy and Jan will talk to Jill before we finalize any plans.
The Walking Club was also discussed.

Since SILT is responsible for setting meeting times, it was agreed that all future SILT and staff meetings will end by 5:00 p.m. Even though this has not been a problem in the past, should the need arise for a lengthy meeting, SILT members felt that it was important to have a predetermined ending time.

The next SILT meeting will be on October 9th.
