At school, Mr. Narika is called Narita sen sei. Sen sei means
teacher in Japanese. He is from Akita Prefecture in Japan, and is
visiting the United States to observe our schools here. In Japan,
Mr. Narita is a first grade teacher at Shakanai Elementary School.
He has been teaching for twelve years and also has taught fifth
and sixth grades. His wife, Miho, teaches fifth grade. They have
a two-year-old son named Ta Kumi.
Mr. Narita coaches cross-country skiing, baseball and swimming.
He enjoys downhill skiing, soccer, baseball, and lure fishing. He
also enjoys the mountains and nature.
While he is visiting C.B. Smith School, he will be involved
in many activities with the children, including
teaching the children some Japanese words, giving art lessons
in origami, teaching Japanese games, and teaching the Bon
Dance. He brought many pictures from Japan to share. We are
very glad to have Kazuhiko Narita visit our school!
