Wondering How to Get a GED?
Free GED classes are being offered to parents of children 6 weeks - 7 years of age through the Preschool Family Education Center. Classes are held Monday - Friday, 8:15-10:45 a.m. or 12:14-3:15 p.m., and childcare is provided. Call 477-4730 to enroll today!

PEAK After School Program
(Pekin Education Academy for Kids)
Get ready and get set for the new PEAK brochure. It will be sent home after the Christmas break. New and exciting classes after school will be offered. These new class offerings result from the recent PEAK parent survey. This is a great way for you child to receive homework help, a snack and an enrichment activity for only a few dollars per night. If you have any questions about PEAK (Pekin Education Academy for Kids), please call 477-2223 ext. 243 or 304.

Stranger Safety Tips
Here are a few helpful suggestions from Officer Chris Bitner when discussing stranger safety with your child.
1. Ask parents or teachers what a "stranger" is
2. Do not talk to strangers
3. Never get into a car with a stranger
4. Never let a stranger in your home
5. Only go to places approved by your parents
6. Play in groups and not alone. Parents and trusted adults can be part of your playgroup.
7. Don't be fooled by friendly talk or smiles.

Cold Weather
Please send your children to school properly dressed for playing outdoors. During these cold months, they should have gloves and hats (and boots if there is snow on the ground).

Change of Address or Phone
Have you moved since the beginning of the school year? Has your home, work, or cell phone number changed? If so we'd like you to notify the school so that we can update our records. Just call 477-4713 and give us the information. Thanks for helping us stay current.
