SILT Minutes
May 14, 2003

Flex Time Procedures/Supervision Procedures - SILT members reviewed flex and supervision procedures. Jan distributed graphs of incidents recorded throughout this school year. Gail suggested that we have an all-school effort to remind students of rules and expectations early in the fall. Having a "Rule of the Day" was suggested.

SILT Membership - Diana Barton will represent PTA on SILT. Jenny Harris will represent kindergarten, Gail Wormer, first grade, Linda Van Dyke, second grade, Jan White, third, Julie York, support staff, Gloria Ranney, DILT, Joyce Lucera, specialists, Angie Theleritis will represent special education, Jenny Holcomb, parents, and Becky Bellrose, learning center. Jan will continue as facilitator and Becky as secretary.

Copy Person - Members would like to continue having a copy person once a week after school next year. Members would like for PTA to use Julie's services, also.

Sunshine Guidelines - Members discussed the Sunshine Fund Guidelines. Some revisions were made. Kelly will retype the guidelines and distribute new copies to staff.

Other - Becky brought a request from a staff member to move the Teachers' Lounge to one of the available EC rooms that has a bathroom for staff to use. Members discussed keeping the current lounge as a workroom with the copy machine and supplies. All members agreed that they would like this arrangement. Jan will talk to Cindy.

Members discussed whether or not SILT representatives will be paid for summer training. Right now it is uncertain, since the district is not planning to pay a stipend. Members would like to know before school is out whether or not the two day training will be paid.Various concerns were voiced, including the need for child care during training. Members also wondered whether or not fewer people could be trained with stipends. Members would like more information from the district and EAP.
