SILT MEETING MINUTES JANUARY 10, 2001

(Stand Up Staff Meeting before SILT: We need to preview software to purchase through the District Buying program. This deadline is April 1. Each grade level is allowed $1520.00. Previewing will be on January 18 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at WIS Learning Center. Each grade level will cover one person’s class so that person can go and preview and critique. Becky Bellrose must also critique these specific programs before district will approve to purchase.)

  1. BUDGET: Cindy gave a copy of our annual budget with year-to-date expenditures logged. We reviewed what has been spent and what remains. SILT members need to remind colleagues to spend their classroom reallocated textbook money and the $50.00 allotted soon if they have not.

    2. In March, we will order furniture needed to have for next year.

  2. SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT: SIP plans for the next inservice. Cathy Toll will present information on writing activities for grades 1 -3. Eileen Borgia will work with Pre-K. and Kindergarten. There will also be a video shown about writing. The SIP team met with Cathy yesterday. To help us, she would like to meet with each grade level during lunchtime meetings. Tell your colleagues. Please get your dates back to Cindy of when to meet with Cathy. (Focus your dialogue with her for specifics. Cindy may give us some readings for background)
  3. Cindy: MDA has speakers who will come in to speak, coloring books, and a Hop-a-thon. SILT decided not to do this.
  4. Peoria Chiefs Reading program is about to begin. Please contact Gloria if you want your class to participate.
