The school plans to involve faculty, staff, administrators, and students in improvement efforts through various means. An example of such involvement is illustrated in the process that was used to create an aligned learning center/title framework and plan.
The team planning format is the standard operating process for improvement efforts. Grade level teachers operate in a team structure and participate in a common goal for improving student learning. The SIP team plans and facilitates all school improvement activities.

The results of several team projects  include the inclusion study group, development of an assigned learning center plan, the special events action team
Students participate in data collection throughout the school year. An example of this is a student survey that was administered to gather information to inform the work of the special events action team. A student satisfaction survey was administered to collect data from a focus group in each grade level. You may also view the 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade survey results.
The school’s leadership encourages quality performance and participation in improvement efforts through faculty/staff recognition and performance appraisals. Teachers are involved in a goal setting process each year. The process is based on the alignment idea. Every goal must support the school and district goals. Teachers use a deliberate process to identify and set goals that are driven by improving student learning.

Improvement opportunities are based on the learning needs of students and staff. Teams are formed to address these needs. These teams include grade level teams and cross-grade teams. Various forms of data are collected and studied to inform our improvement efforts. A sampling of the types of data that are used can be viewed by clicking here.

Human resources are an important consideration for strategic planning? This would include factors such as how the school determines training needed to accomplish strategic goals. Insert examples. Our focus has been on cultivating skills and knowledge related to incorporating quality principles as a means for school improvement. The starting place for our school was to understand the differences between a quality organization versus a traditional organization. Our goal is to build understanding of the quality triangle related to curriculum, assessment, and instruction.
All improvement activities are linked to student and staff learning. After analyzing student performance we look for the causes of that hinder achievement. Once a specific area of improvement is identified current practices are related to that area are assessed. If a void exists between known best practice and knowledge then development activities are used to address it. In many cases the a great deal of staff learning takes place as a result of involvement in a deliberate  improvement process. It all directly supports the quality triangle concept.
Teams work across grade levels and subject areas in various capacities. An example to illustrate this is the School Improvement Planning Team (SIP) and Starke Instructional Leadership Team (SILT). The SILT is made up of a representative from each grade level and specialist area. The SIP team is represents each grade level.
The school engenders a climate of collaboration, celebration of success, open communication and personal responsibility through the school improvement planning process. An example of collaborative planning is evidenced in the force field analysis activity that was used by the staff as a means to identify key issues and set the stage for addressing key improvement issues. Further evidence is provided in the summaries of school improvement activities.
Personal development is encouraged for all staff members as an important piece of the goal action planning process. The action planning process is intended to address critical issues related to improving student learning. It is oriented in the spirit of an action research process. It is intended to promote a culture of learning among staff members and to develop the overall leadership capacity of teachers as learners, problem solvers, and change agents. The school improvement process illustrates this idea.
It is an expectation that all new staff members be involved in the improvement process. All new staff members participate in school improvement work. All of the opportunities that are available to tenured staff members are afforded to new staff. New teachers participate in training, serve on planning teams, work on special projects, and help determine and facilitate group goals.
