
Purpose of the Program:
The purpose of the program is to provide supplemental literacy services to help all students make progress toward mastering the district curriculum objectives.
Program Overview:
Each grade level is provided with a fifty to sixty minute block of time each day when all of the aligned Learning Center resources are available. Supplemental instructional support for reading and writing will be provided for each student based on his/her learning needs. Individual student progress will be monitored at strategic points throughout the school year by collecting and analyzing relevant assessment data.
Each Literacy Team (comprised of grade level teachers and literacy planning team) will plan for the use of the aligned learning center resources to support our school-wide literacy goals based on the specific needs of the students.
The Literacy Leaders and Title Assistants will co-plan with classroom teachers, co- teach with classroom teacher, and provide resources to support eligible Title students and other low achieving students. The Connections teacher will co-plan with classroom teachers, co-teach with classroom teachers, and provide resources for Connections students and other high achieving students. The Learning Center Teacher will co-plan with classroom teachers and co- teach with classroom teachers to support literacy related technology integration.
