PTA Minutes 10/6/03

-Superintendent Don White was introduced to the PTA members that were present.

-Fundraiser kickoff was this afternoon. Please watch your child's backpack for the all important fundraiser brochures and order form. The all-school goal that will get Mr. Ealey into the dunk tank is $22,000.00

-The Treasurer's Report was shared.

-Karen Frazer asked for volunteers for Autumn Adventure, Thursday, Oct. 23.

-T-Shirts sold: So far we've sold 49 shirts. $311.50 has been collected.

-Boxtops/Soup Labels-Mrs. Krohn's class was the winner for the month of September.

-Student Directory-The student directory is currently being put together. A disclaimer that not all students in each classroom are included on each classroom listing will be included. Another form will be sent home with all students for last minute additions. We will make sure parents know that this is on a voluntary basis and you will not have to purchase a directory for your child to be included in the directory.

-Script Certificates-A fundraiser that offers gift certificates from different vendors. The school gets a percentage of the gift certificates sold. Amy Dickey volunteered to be in charge of this project. For the first month only, money off the top is necessary in order to purchase and participate in this program. Some participating vendors providing the gift certificates would be from Schnucks, Krogers, JCPenney and several other stores.

-Cookbook-The idea of a cookbook as a fundraiser was considered. We will be investigating the possibility of participating in this project.

-Field Trip Money-In the past, PTA has donated $100 per teacher for field trips. As funds are tight at this time we will send an e-mail to all classroom teachers asking who needs their field trip $ first semester, and who is willing to wait until second semester. Hopefully, not everyone will need the money first semester.
