January 12, 2004 - PTA Meeting
- Keep those Box Tops coming! We just received a check for $383!!
- The Bradley basketball game is Sat., Jan. 17th at 2:00pm. As parents send $ to the office the tickets will be sent home.
- The Fun Services contract will be signed for next year’s Santa’s Secret Shop. We receive a 5% discount for signing early. For 2003 we saved $126.15.
- We (the PTA) will be participating in Bergners’ Community Day on Feb. 28th. We will sell coupon booklets ahead of time for $5. The entire amount goes to the PTA. The coupons can be used in any Bergners store on Feb. 28th. There will also be a booth set up at the store that day and we are hoping to have volunteers to sell more booklets there.
- The learning center is in need of 30 new computers to replace old ones. Mr. Ealey hopes to be able to replace 6 per year for 5 years. The cost is $1000 each. The PTA has committed to purchase at least one of the computers each year. Once they are replaced, the literacy lab teachers will use the computers that are still useable.
- The marquee for the front of the building will soon be ordered.
- Family Reading Night is scheduled for March 25th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. The new committee has some great ideas and will be making some exciting changes for this year’s event.
- Also, Wendi asked that we try to make some parent information available on this night so that parents can read about strategies for helping their children. Mr. Ealey said that this would be no problem to arrange!
- We are purchasing some new Accelerated Reader books with the money earned from the fundraiser. They will be ready for use in the fall.
- Wendi had a great idea for gifts for Teacher Appreciation day. It will be a nice surprise!
