Quality Assurance Preparation Update No Quality Assurance Visit Dates
(Evening Interviews-March 6)  (Visit-March 7)
Quality Assurance Action team met before Christmas.  The STAT team, SILT team, & a Parent Focus group will be "interviewed" by the Quality Assurance Team the evening prior to the visit.
Sample focus questions were given to all SILT members to help them prepare for the 3/7/02 visit.

Printers Yes We currently have Canon printers in the building which are starting to show wear & tear.  The school has purchased 8 new printers from Walmart at $49 each.  These printers are to replace the old Canon printers.  These funds come from the school equipment account.

Budget Info No Friday, April 26 will be the cutoff day for submitting purchase requisitions.  The reason for the change is two-fold: (1) so that teachers may receive there supplies and materials before the end of May, and (2) so that all orders can be received and paid out of the current budget.

Playground Equipment Proposal Yes Over the last 2.5 years approximately $1600 has been spent on playground equipment.  PTA has donated funds towards this.  Balls and other playground equipment have been rapidly disappearing.  PTA suggested that in order to keep closer track of these items to assign playground equipment to each classroom.  Each class would get 2 playground balls & 1 basketball.  Every day equipment would be checked out by  a student who would be responsible for it. It was suggested that Kg/1st grade continue to use the cart system & grades 2 & 3 try the new system of responsibility.  Kg & 1st grade students can only check out balls assigned to their classroom.  One student in each K/1st grade class will help make sure the equipment gets back in the cart. We have ordered new equipment & will begin this process upon receipt of that equipment.  We will advise when the equipment arrives.

Mission/Vision Brochure Yes The Mission/Vision brochure was handed out at the SILT meeting for one last review.  Any changes are to be submitted before late January.  The group suggested some grammatical corrections. The brochure  will be distributed during the Spring Conferences.
