Reviewed the SILT flow chart. An upcoming duty is to review the flex schedule.

SILT is also to monitor the plan later in the year addressing any problems or issues that have come about.

SILT members reviewed the school supervision plan & suggested revisions & changes to assist with recess, dismissal time, & misc. school procedures

PTA EVENTS

Fall Festival 10/24/02 Sponsored by PTA. Teachers will plan their activities by grade level & teachers will keep the profits from their activities.

The issue of pumpkin decorating was discussed & we are looking for alternatives where classes could be represented. Please see a SILT member with any ideas you may have. By October , please let Marj Oesch know what your activity will be.

HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES

Students are to asked to dress as book characters or as a patriotic characters. We will send the memo home re: appropriate costumes & also include information in the October newsletter. The school will again provide treats with party money for "party day", Oct 31 (Rice Krispie Treats).

GRAND PARENTS DAY

It was suggested each grade level do an activity on a separate day. 2nd Grade will celebrate Sept 20. Grades 1 & 3 will celebrate 10/1. (Kindergarten opted out of this event.) The issue of going home with grandparents was addressed. We are asking teachers to include a permission slip on the bottom of their invitations for parents to sign off allowing grandparents to take children home

BAKE SALE

Marj

We are asking parents to bring healthier snacks when their child’s class sponsors bake sale. Our new bake sale note addresses this issue.

Issue Bin

Post any current issues and future agenda items for consideration. Posted issues will be addressed by the group as time permits

Learning Center Issues

Critical Incident Plans will be distributed later this week.(Bomb threats, earthquakes, tornadoes).
