Teaching and learning improve in a safe, respectful and inviting environment. 

This learning environment is characterized by a well-maintained facility in which students, staff, parents and the community feel safe and secure.  The learning environment nurtures each student’s unique needs and abilities. Learners are actively engaged in purposeful, motivating experiences. Each individual is treated with dignity and respect. 

Clear expectations for behavior are established and consequences are administered fairly. Continuous growth is encouraged through meaningful feedback and self-reflection.

Monitor construction projects
Monitor the Wilson and Washington construction projects and prepare for the remodeling of Wilson and Washington facilities not covered under the school construction grants..

Evaluate contracted services
Evaluate and improve the current food service, custodial, and transportation programs and services.

Improve student and staff securtiy
Investigate policies, procedures and practices to improve student and staff safety and security.

Properties and Non-Instructional Services Strategy:
To make appropriate and efficient use of District 108 properties and non-instructional services, we will...
  1. Secure space to meet enrollment and program needs. 
  2. Maintain a long-range plan and align resources to: 
    • Bring properties into life/safety compliance
    • Upgrade learning environments 
  3. Increase the collaborative relationships with public entities by defining roles for more efficient use of properties and non-instructional services. 
  4. Enhance security and safety on district properties. 
  5. Ensure excellence in non-instructional services.


Safe, Healthy Learning Environment Strategy:
To ensure a safe, heathly learning environment for staff and students, we will...

  1. Expand support servicesto address the needs of students, families, and staff that:
    • Addresses socio-economic diversity
    • Utilizes community resources and agencies
    • Addresses health issues
  2. Communicate and enforce policies and procedures to ensure appropriate, respectful behaviors to ensure a students, staff and parents.
  3. Create alternative programs for intermediate and junior high school students with chronic disruptive behaviors.
  4. Support and evaluate student behavior management systems within the school environment.
  5. Ensure that the latchkey program provides a safe, secure environment with adequate space and enriching activities.
